ARIZONA - Rocky Mountain ELK
Elk hunting is by far our most popular hunt. Arizona offers early rut hunts for archery
that start in mid-September and run through late September. The early muzzle loader and rifle
hunts start in late September and run through early October. These early hunts not only offer
our clients a chance at one of those "Arizona Giants", as well as a hunting experience of a
lifetime. If you have never had a HUGE mature bull bugling in your face then you need to hunt
with us!
Arizona also offers a general or late hunt. Depending on the unit these hunts start in mid-October
and can run through mid-December. The general hunt can be a very rewarding hunt. Bull's are
usually in bachelor herds at this time of year and can be located by glassing from high
vantage points. This hunt also produces some trophy class elk. Our hunts are conducted at
elevations between 5500 ft and 9500 ft. The terrain can range from cedars to brushy canyons,
low elevation to high timber. Depending on what time of year you hunt, temperatures can vary
from the high 90's to below zero. Hunts are spot and stalk so hunters should be in good physical
condition. Arizona only offers a limited number of elk tags each year, so the key to your success
in drawing a tag is to KEEP APPLYING! |
